Though Jersey is part of the British Islands, we’re geographically much closer to France than the UK.

Located in the heart of the English Channel, Jersey sits just 14 miles (22 km) from the French coast and 85 miles (137 km) from mainland Britain. Thanks to our unique position, the island is easily accessible by air and sea from both countries.

In need of an easy escape? Jersey makes it simple. Blending British charm with a continental feel, Jersey is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. From lush countryside to dramatic cliffs and secluded, sandy coves, you’ll be surprised by how much there is to see and do on the island.

Getting here is easy too – fly direct from over 20 UK airports or hop on a ferry from Poole or Portsmouth. You can also travel from France with regular sailings from St. Malo (plus Grainville and Carteret in the summer months) and seasonal direct flights from France and Germany.
